In celebration of Assistive Technology Awareness Month in PA, we’re hosting a #MyLifeWithAT Photo Contest throughout the month of November. Show off some of the amazing things you’ve done with a little help from your assistive technology (AT).

We want to hear from YOU!

What are you doing that you care about and want to share? What achievements have you made? What passions have you followed? What interests have you explored? And how did AT play a part? Show off something that you’ve done that’s important to you and tell us how AT played a part in #MyLifeWithAT!

How to enter:
1) Post a photo on the PATF Facebook Page of something you are doing or have done that is important to you with help from your assistive technology.
2) In the photo caption describe your activity or accomplishment and tell us what type of AT device you used.
3) Include the hashtag #MyLifeWithAT in your caption.

We’ll keep your photo on our Facebook wall and also share it in a Facebook photo album called #MyLifeWithAT Photo Contest 2016. Get your friends to like and comment on your original post and/or on the copy of your photo that we’ve posted in our album. We’ll count every like and every comment as a vote.

The contest will run throughout the month of November. At the end of the month we’ll choose a grand prize winner for a $100 VISA Gift Card from the top ten photos with the most likes and comments. A runner-up will also be chosen and receive a $25 VISA Gift Card. We’ll announce the winner by 5:00pm EST on December 1st on our Facebook Page–please check back to see if you won.

Post Your Photo Now!

Alexa sits in her wheelchair in her new home in front of a bright green wall.

Last year’s Grand Prize Winner was Alexa. “I recently moved into my own house, which is now automated, allowing me to control the lights, blinds, doors etc. through an app on my Samsung cell phone, which I also control through my joystick on my power chair using Bluetooth. This technology has made me a lot more secure and independent!” #MyLifeWithAT

Kimiko smiles and holds up a medal around her neck to the camera.

Last year’s runner-up was Kimiko. “This is me at regionals with my GOLD MEDAL from Special Olympics Bowling!! I used a special ramp as my AT so that it was easier for me to roll the ball down the lane!”
