November is Assistive Technology Awareness Month in Pennsylvania, and we are excited to have several individuals with disabilities who will be sharing how they use assistive technology every day and how they got their assistive technology.
Our goal is to show how people with various disabilities use assistive technology like a laptop, Alexa, or a Ring doorbell to live more independently and safely, and to share how they funded their assistive technology.
You will meet Chris and his family who use Alexa to help manage their everyday activities. They set up a routine on Alexa to play the sound of a train when it is time to start getting ready for bed. This routine makes it easier for everyone to transition into their bedtime routine and Alexa helps keep them on schedule, which is so important in maintaining a consistent schedule.
We are committed to helping people with disabilities and older Pennsylvanians with information and assistance, financial education, and financing opportunities so they can acquire the AT devices and resources they need.
If you want AT but need help paying for it, contact PATF. We provide low-interest and 0% interest financial loans for the purchase of AT devices. Learn more at: https://patf.us/what-we-do
