Financial Education Director
Karen Hassett is the Financial Education Director for Pennsylvania Assistive Technology Foundation (PATF). She is responsible for developing and implementing PATF’s financial education initiatives, education outreach, and advocacy.
Before joining PATF, Karen directed financial literacy education and outreach at CLARIFI. She began her career in financial education over 10 years ago at a Delaware County-based credit union where she managed the overall strategy for financial education including designing and implementing content, and community outreach.
While at the credit union she and her team designed a literature-based financial education program, based on a beloved children’s book series. This program, marketed nationally to other credit unions, focuses on the financial concepts of Save, Spend, Share, and Earn.
In addition to her role as a financial wellness advocate and educator, Karen has her master’s degree in Education, is a Pennsylvania-certified educator, and has over ten years’ experience in the classroom.
Karen and her husband, Joe, live in Audubon, PA. They have three children, two of whom live in the area, and the third on the West Coast. When not working, Karen and Joe enjoy spending time with family and friends, digging in the garden, the occasional binge-worthy series, and traveling.
