Melissa Rooney has been a registered nurse for over 30 years. She earned her master’s degree in nursing from La Roche College in 2016. She holds national certifications in Case Management, and in Care Coordination and Transition Management. For the last seven years of her career, Melissa has been in working in the aging and disability area. She has provided case management for participants of waiver programs, and supervised and trained Service Coordinators. Melissa participated in the Community HealthChoices/Managed Long-Term Services and Supports Western Pennsylvania Planning group through The Jewish Healthcare Foundation to assist with the roll out of Community HealthChoices. Melissa is a member of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Partnership for Aging. Melissa’s interests include improving health outcomes within communities through health education and impacting social determinants of health. She also has a special interest in medical ethics. Melissa is a strong advocate for participants’ rights for self-determination.
Melissa and her husband have been active leaders in the Boy Scout’s of America for over 10 years. They have three children.
